Privacy Policy for Pond Monitor Assistant

Last updated: 13 July 2026

Pond Monitor Assistant (“the app”) is developed by Julmar. This policy explains what information the app uses and how.

Summary

Pond Monitor Assistant is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not require an account, do not collect personal information on our servers, and do not use advertising or analytics tracking of any kind.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the following information locally in a database on your phone or tablet, and it is never uploaded to us:

  • Fish records you enter (name, species, colouring, purchase details, notes, and size measurements)
  • Pond water test readings (pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, KH, GH, temperature, and notes)
  • Pond maintenance logs (task type, dates, water volumes, notes)
  • Photos you take or choose to attach to a fish record, stored in the app’s private storage on your device

You can export this data at any time using the app’s built-in Backup feature, and permanently delete it using the Clear Database feature. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

Camera and photos

The app requests camera access so you can photograph your fish and pond. When adding existing photos, the app uses Android’s built-in Photo Picker, which lets you choose specific photos without giving the app broader access to your photo library.

AI Assist feature

If you choose to use the optional “AI Assist” feature, the numeric water test readings you’ve logged (for example, pH and ammonia values) are sent to OpenAI’s API to generate care advice. No photos, names, or other personal information are included in this request. This feature only runs when you actively choose to use it. Use of this feature is subject to OpenAI’s own privacy policy, available at openai.com/privacy.

Permissions used

  • Camera — to photograph fish and pond conditions
  • Internet — to enable the optional AI Assist feature

Children’s privacy

Pond Monitor Assistant is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
